The annual New Year's Poetry Reading Ceremony

Yesterday the annual New Year's Poetry Reading Ceremony was performed at the Imperial Palace.
The theme was "light" for this year's "waka" poems.
According to the news, a total of 23,346 poems were submitted by the public. Ten people whose poems were selected participated in the ceremony in the presence of the Emperor, Empress Michiko and other members of the Imperial family.
Speaking of light, I recalled watching on TV drama.
I made a deep impression this drama.

No.1 player of “Ogura Hyakunin Isshu” card game

Yesterday, Japan’s No.1 player of “Ogura Hyakunin Isshu” card game was decided in Otsu Shiga Prefecture.
Many players compete for the title of Master and Queen.
This year ‘s Queen is a student.
She defeated challenger to become Queen for the sixth consecutive years.
It is a wonderful.

I played Karuta ‘”Ogura Hyakunin Isshu”when I was a high school student.
It was a difficult for me to get card as quickly as possible.
Every day we had to practice to get card quickly and learn cards by heart.
It was good memories for me.

Watched a football game on TV

Yesterday I watched a football game on TV with my husband.
Japan beats Yemen.
Sota Hirayama made the biggest impact in yesterday’s game.
He scored all three goals .
We applauded him for his wonderful performance.
We had a good time.

My New Year’s resolutions

What are your New Year’s resolutions?
I want study English so that can speak fluently more.
I have many foreign friends.
I am going to make an effort to communicate more with them.
I’m interested in literature and culture and history.
I want to be listening and reading comprehension about Japanese and foreign countries.
This summer I will go to Spain with my husband.
I want to go sightseeing around Spain and French.
I hope I will have a good trip.

The beginning of midwinter

Today is the beginning of midwinter.
It has been snowing heavily in the New Year’s Days in Japan.
The real winter has come.
In my childhood, I lived in an area heavy snowfall, where people needed to remove the snow from roof when it snowed.
It was a very hard work.
But most children liked snow, and today they like it, too.
They play skiing, throw snowball at each other, and make harires of snow and snowman.
Lately, however, we have had an abnormally warm winter.
It’s a very pity that we get fewer to feel wintry mood.
To know the change and turning of seasons is important.

The begining of the work

Today is Monday.
From today there are many offices to begin of the work.
In this morning I do daily work.
At the first, I wipe window during winter because of condensation.
The view from look out of the window is a wintry scene.
The road is covered with the withered leaves.
The branches spread far and wide in the air.
That is very free and easy.
I feel relaxed.
Next I do my washing and hang out the washing.
I have a lot of washing to do during the winter vacation.
What is worse a washing machine gets out of pump.
Now I use a hand pump.
Many times I look after a washing machine.
To go up and down the stairs is very good exercise for me.
The last routine work is to clean.
I clean every day, but the room gather dust.
Housework is repetitive works.
All routine work came to an end around 10 a.m.
Later ,I study  English and read books .

From today I will write a diary in English.
I am very bad at English especially speaking and hearing.
But this summer I will visit Spain with my husband.
My plan is to be good at English until then.
So, I make up my mind to write and to listen English every day.
Today is holiday.
I went to movie with my family.
The title of AVATAR.
Movie director is James Francis Cameron.
This movie is a three dimensional movie.
The audience are accepted a 3-D glasses.
We enjoy a three dimensional movie.
This movie is very fun.
And I think of nature and life and war.
We had a good time.
